My thoughts, Fame, Fatal Fame - Michael Jackson And The Death of Global Super-Stardom — Steve Lawson: Bass 2.0

Fame, Fame, Fatal Fame - Michael Jackson And The Death of Global Super-Stardom — Steve Lawson: Bass 2.0 — the soundtrack to the day you wish you’d had

My first time visit to your blog post ever Steve, despite we met a few weeks back, glad I did.

great thought provoking posts.

but is it not the reverse might also be true?

where if he had stayed and not to nurture/grow his talent(s).. he might just have stayed into obscurity or in fact joined gangs & become another types of statistics?

Sadly, I don't think any of us has answers of what is right or wrong. As we can only measure it based on what we think (now), which might transpires to be different based on different understanding in the future years.

One thing might stay constant, which is that people need goals & drivers and friends & families to support them & keep them 'grounded'.

There might also be junkie, paedo bookshop keepers or gardeners.. who without fame, celebrity status does more harms than good!?

which might also mean that its better these guys/girls uses/nurtures their talents and harness the potential powers and contribute to their fields, literature, art, music, creative areas.. ?

just a different thought..

Under discussion: online fulfilment | In Depth | Retail Week

No doubt HDNL put up money & resources to pull these people together and hosted a great lunch with discussion.

sadly, my guess is that there is no competitor of theirs present and the crux of the issue of 'fulfilment' might not have been explored.. what are the likely solutions..

not great fan of advertorial masquerading as news...

Channel Five to launch online gambling service with PartyGaming | Media | guardian.co.uk

Channel Five to launch online gambling service with PartyGaming |
Media |
guardian.co.uk

This is defniately in unchartered territory..

I think this 'could be' pivotal, if:

1.) there will be 'decent' traffic and call to 'action' by channel five for their viewers to move to 'online', as in general now, even for ITV/FOX/FX, their online capabilities are more for 'information'..

2.) most of the 'rights' owner of US type series won't create problems for channel 5 when they realise how this might 'potentially' create reputational risks..

3.) Ofcom, Gambling Commissions, CAP are all ok with this converged proposition..

It will be very interesting to see how it all pannes out..

Key challenge/opportunity is that even if/when this become a success, could this be 'translated' and copied to the rest of the world!??

There might still be hope for the media/broadcaste sector yet.. ;)

Indeed very interesting study.

However, I trust that the system will 'evolve'. yes, one comment from non-twitterer was that 'he was not 'vain''

at present it might be a broadcast system, but there might be other cases that promote/enable more 1-2-1 communication, like how I use it, my feed is private and only people I know/interested in or met can see/interact with me.

sadly my usage data is not available to you.

therefore, I trust the system will evolve and when it address 'privacy' and private group aspects, it will be much more ubiquitous and powerful tool!
