Channel Five to launch online gambling service with PartyGaming |
Media |
guardian.co.uk

This is defniately in unchartered territory..

I think this 'could be' pivotal, if:

1.) there will be 'decent' traffic and call to 'action' by channel five for their viewers to move to 'online', as in general now, even for ITV/FOX/FX, their online capabilities are more for 'information'..

2.) most of the 'rights' owner of US type series won't create problems for channel 5 when they realise how this might 'potentially' create reputational risks..

3.) Ofcom, Gambling Commissions, CAP are all ok with this converged proposition..

It will be very interesting to see how it all pannes out..

Key challenge/opportunity is that even if/when this become a success, could this be 'translated' and copied to the rest of the world!??

There might still be hope for the media/broadcaste sector yet.. ;)
